I’m happy to report the hubby came home Friday night and we had a wonderful weekend of family togetherness.
This trip was …. hellish, for me that is. I know it was ONLY two weeks. Yes I also know that 14 days is NOTHING compared to the 12 month deployment I’ve survived and countless others are currently doing. No, I’m not become one of THOSE former Army/civilian wives ! I actually was looking forward to getting some stuff done that I haven’t been able to.
I don’t know if it was because we’ve gotten spoiled over the last year with no trips of any kind for either of us or the fact I’m just getting older. However,we had more instances of “Murphy” this trip than during our entire year long deployment in 2009-2010.
Here are some of the highlights:
1. I got the flu twice (for the record I haven’t been sick since Jan 2010 )
2 . The teen got the flu (from me )
3. The teen’s asthma came back with a vengeance (hasn’t had asthma problems since 2008)
4. The basement floods
Need I say more ? Only 3 more 2-week trips for him this year … woohoo!
However this weekend, we had a wonderful time spending time as a family. We went out to eat , did some shopping, hung out , played RockBand and even managed to sneak in looking at another house.
In other news … we had decided on the house that we are buyin and we’ll be putting in an offer this week. Yes this is the DREAM house and property I’ve talked about before. We had to wait till after this trip and to fix a couple of things on the credit report but we can now finally move forward.
Also my boys from MN did me proud – University of MN Golden Gophers won the WCHA Hockey Conference Title by beating Wisconsin !
All in all – a great end to otherwise a couple of bad weeks!
