My Life’s Agenda

My Life’s agenda has changed a lot over the years as my passions and interests have changed.

I can remember being a little girl dreaming of where life would take me, my life agenda.  I had the idea of marrying a rich man (usually HE was Royalty or maybe the Celebrity Stud du jour ) , having lots of children, lots of animals, graduating from college,  and I’d be a veterinarian. I’d live on a beautiful ranch out in the country. I would have everything I wanted and be very rich of course. Yes , I wanted it all!

As I got older and went through a MAJOR life changing event  I realized that Life wasn’t always about having the things that you want – it is about having the things that you need. Also,  everything that happens to us happens for a reason . The things that happen, the gifts/blessings we are given to us  are there for us to learn and grow.

My life agenda today is a bit different than I originally planned as a young girl. I didn’t marry a rich man but I did marry a wonderful man that loves me no matter what and respects me. As I’ve always known I’d be a Mama, we decided to  stick to only 2 beautiful and awesome children.   I guess  that I wasn’t too far off the mark for the basics !

Even though my life has turned out a lot different than I expected and have had life experiences I never dreamed about .. I love my life. Are there things I want to change about my life ? Absolutely but for the most part I’m one happy and lucky girl.

So what’s my agenda now … well honestly I don’t have one anymore.  I think that “agendas” are too stuffy and are meant for rigidity and to keep meetings on task.

One other lesson I learned along the way  (especially as an Army wife ) is the concept of Semper Gumby! (for you civilian types – that means Always Flexible) I just go where life takes me and explore the new opportunities that I’ve been exposed too. Heck that’s how I became a writer/blogger and now co-owner of a Tshirt Shop!

Do I have goals and dreams I’d like to accomplish ? You betcha! I call it my Life List – things I want to do but it’s ok if I don’t. It’s just something to shoot for!

So what about you do you have an Agenda for your Life or is it more of a List ?

    1. Just visiting from The Blog Dare! I love your post. I am not an Army wife but I have a friend that is and she has been so many places and had so many experiences. I envy her sometimes. I hope you visit back!

    2. I think life agenda’s are always hard to keep. I had the same type of plans that you had while we were children. I can also say that I’m very happy within my life. I have a wonderful daughter, planning to get married, and finishing a book I’ve been writing for three years now. These are are things that add to my happiness. My life is the ultimate happiness. I was on a path of destruction when it came to my health. As of Nov of last year, I got my life back. So, I don’t make agenda’s. I live my life daily and make happy memories in the process. I enjoyed your post. I’m visiting from Bloggy Moms.
